RITA
The David and the Wilson school are
very different because of the occurrences that Rita has had to face. Although
the two schools are entirely different, they share the common goal of educating
young adults. Both Rita and the
administrators at the David School look beyond race, gender, and socioeconomic
status when educating a child. They don’t have a hidden agenda with regards to
having the best player in a particular band class or certain students with advanced
academic skills in a specific honors class.
They simply are looking to educate an individual so that he or she may
reach their full potential.
The David School is designed to
install the basic skills needed to strive in a classroom and succeed in the
workforce environment. It was stated
that the David School builds both self-confidence and self-respect. These two attributes are the building blocks to
successful learners. The two aforementioned
qualities gives an individual the self-efficacy to not only set goals, but to
move stage to stage towards achieving ones objective(s).
If Rita
were the administrator at the David School she would strive. She wouldn’t have to break the recurring
yearly inequality of servicing particular students with a specific teacher or
break the racial division between teachers and students. She wouldn’t even have to worry about her job
stability by shaking the foundation of the communities “good ole boy”
mentality. On the contrary the David
School’s dilemma is quite the opposite of the Wilson School. In my opinion, the David schools staff intellectual
methodology is in line with Rita’s educational paradigm. The staffs vertical
alignment process is simply to educate, reinforce learning, and apply the newly
acquired knowledge to the labor force environment. The staff of the Wilson School has their own
secret agenda that doesn’t coexist with Rita’s scholastic viewpoints. She can be successful at the Wilson, but it
will take time to implement her ideology and leadership style.
Having a school staffs that are in
tune to the principals educational philosophy is the first step to a successful
school. The David School from my
perspective would accept Rita’s leadership assets with open arms. I believe that Rita is what is missing from
the David School because Rita was designed for an institute such as the David
School. Rita brings a level of
educational expertise that is missing from the school. Although the administrators at the David
School are doing the best that they can do they have no formal schooling
regarding the fundamental process of school finance or teaching methodology. Rita with her experience in the public
school system along with her expertise in the teaching field would not only
bring a better leader to the school but raise the overall structure of the institution.
For the reasons I have stated I believe
Rita can be successful at the David School. Her personality when working with at risk students
is proven and her unbiased agenda as an administrator is heroic. Social impartiality along with being able to
help students reach their inner ambition is the reasons she can be successful at
any type of school of education.
